Fishing & Boating at Sparks Lake Resort

Spend time on the water during your stay with guest-only access to canoes, kayaks, paddle boats, and fishing gear. All lake equipment is checked out through the office and is available only to registered cabin guests.

  • 2 canoes available for guest use
  • 2 kayaks available for guest use
  • 2 paddle boats available for guest use
  • Canoes and paddle boats hold 2 guests each
  • Kayaks hold 1 guest only
  • Fishing poles and tackle available through the office

Rental Rates

Boats / Kayaks / Paddle Boats $30 a day
Fishing Poles $10 per person, per day
Office Check-Out Required: All boats, paddles, poles, tackle, and life vests must be picked up at the office and returned after use.

  • Equipment must be checked out through the office.
  • Life vests are required at all times on docks and floating devices.
  • Only registered cabin guests may use the lake amenities.
  • Each guest must sign the Lake & Outdoor Activity Waiver before lake use.
  • Children and minors must remain under adult supervision at all times.

Boats, kayaks, canoes, and paddle boats must stay at least 30 feet away from the fountain area.

No diving, no running, and no rough play on the dock. Children must be watched at all times.

When visiting SLAC on the other side of the lake, guests must stay on the marked trail and keep the area clean.

Fishing & Boating Rules

Lake, dock, trail, and property rules for registered Sparks Lake Resort guests

Boats, Kayaks & Paddle Boats

  • All floating devices must be checked out at the office.
  • Canoes and paddle boats hold only 2 guests per boat.
  • Kayaks hold only 1 guest.
  • Life vests are required at all times.
  • All guests using equipment must sign the activity waiver.
  • Equipment must be returned after use in good condition.

Fountain & Dam Safety

  • Stay at least 30 feet away from the fountain in the middle of the lake.
  • Boats must stay away from the edge of the dam.
  • Do not climb on the dam.
  • Do not enter restricted shoreline or equipment areas.
  • Use the lake carefully and respect posted boundaries.

Fishing Access

  • Fishing poles and tackle are available through the office.
  • Fishing poles are $10 per person, per day.
  • Please keep the lake area clean.
  • Respect other guests using the dock and shoreline.
  • Only registered cabin guests may use fishing and boating amenities.

Dock & Swimming Rules

  • Swimming is welcome for resort guests.
  • No diving from the dock.
  • No running on the dock.
  • No rough play or unsafe behavior near the water.
  • No chairs on the dock.
  • Children must be monitored at all times on the property.

Trailhead & SLAC Access

  • When visiting SLAC on the other side of the lake, stay on the marked trail.
  • Keep the area clean and respect the property.
  • Do not wander into restricted areas.
  • Children must remain with their adult while walking the trail.
  • Use the trail respectfully as part of the shared guest environment.

Property Rules

  • No dogs on the dock or in boats.
  • Respect the property and other visitors at all times.
  • Do not remove outdoor chairs from cabin areas.
  • Fire pits at each cabin must be used according to fire danger conditions.
  • Only guests who rented a cabin may use resort amenities and property areas.
Guest Responsibility

Private amenities for cabin guests only

All lake access, fishing equipment, boats, kayaks, paddle boats, swimming areas, and other resort amenities are for guests who rented a cabin. Each guest must complete the waiver form before using outdoor lake activities.

Children must be supervised at all times, and guests are expected to use all equipment and shared spaces safely and respectfully. Please also review the full resort rules and safety page before using lake amenities.
